Watching dolphins at Chanonry Point, near Inverness

If you’re lucky at Chanonry Point and get the tides right then this is simply wonderful and amazing and any adjective of wonder you care to mention. These creatures are magnificent.

In all honesty, it’s not too much of a walk for the dogs but you once you’ve reached the point you can continue around the coastline for a proper hoof.

A word of caution: the reason the dolphins love it is because of the converging of tides and so the current is incredible and wild. If your dog is part fish like my English Springer and a keen swimmer then this may not be the one for you.

The Chanonry Point is easy to find and parking is free.

We managed capture only a tiny snippet (but hundreds of photos of fins) and I’m sure the doggies enjoyed sitting under the umbrella sheltering from the localised storm.
